Wallingford, Vt. - The Vermont Agency of Transportation on Monday, May 24 will close a short section of Route 140 in Wallingford to conduct highway repairs. The roadway is anticipated to be closed for about three weeks.
Beginning Monday, Route 140 will be closed in the are located about 3.60 miles east of Wallingford Village and Route 7, where crews will be reconstructing about 800 feet of roadway between Bear Mountain Road and Hawkins Road. As a result, Route 140 will be closed to through traffic, which will be detoured from Route 140 in Wallingford to Route 7, then to Route 103 in Clarendon and through Shrewsbury, before returning to Route 140 in East Wallingford.
