WATERBURY, VT – A unique new partnership in Vermont between state government, private businesses and an organized sporting group has made it possible for collectors to purchase several high quality products that help celebrate Vermont’s hunting and fishing traditions.
The “New Hunter Heritage Collector’s Series 2008” was developed as a partnership between the Vermont Fish & Wildlife Department, the Vermont Bear Hound Association and three Vermont businesses.
“This new project capitalizes on the Fish & Wildlife Department’s ability to sell products and partner with Vermont businesses to develop high quality limited edition products for sale with a portion of the proceeds going toward conservation and restoration projects for fish and wildlife statewide,” said Fish & Wildlife Commissioner Wayne Laroche.
“We want to give special thanks to Clint Gray, President of the Vermont Bear Hound Association, for proposing the “New Hunter Heritage Collector’s Series 2008,” said Laroche.
Serially numbered limited edition MDM Muzzleloader QuicShooter rifles, serially numbered limited edition Kingdom Knives’ “Palmer” knives and waterproof Melton wool Beagle Wear Utility bags are being promoted by the Fish & Wildlife Department on its website (www.vtfishandwildlife.com) where interested customers are directed to each of the three company websites to make their purchases.
“I want to thank all of you who worked on developing this unique new project that will help provide new funding for fish and wildlife conservation and restoration,” said Commissioner Laroche. “I appreciate that it also highlights Vermont’s hunting tradition that continues to play an important role in wildlife management in the 21st Century.”
The five products listed below are being sold in the “New Hunter Heritage Collector’s Series 2008” via the Vermont Fish & Wildlife Department’s website (vtfishandwildlife.com).
