Stone Bridge Brook Water Use Advisory Goes Into Effect

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and Vermont Fish & Wildlife Department announce that the Lake Champlain sea lamprey control team is scheduled to treat Stone Bridge Brook with the lampricide, TFM, on Wednesday, October 23rd. A temporary water use advisory will go into effect on this date at 7:00 a.m. for Stone Bridge Brook downstream from the Lake Road Crossing, and at 7:00 p.m. for lake shore area within 1.0 mile north and south of the Brook's mouth.

The VT Department of Health recommends against using brook or lake water in these areas for household, agricultural and recreational purposes while the advisories are in effect.

The advisories will be lifted as soon as monitoring indicates that the lampricide has dissipated to acceptable levels. The recreational use restrictions are expected to last from two to five days. The household and agricultural use restrictions may last from three to five days.
