State Board Seeks Public Comment on Strategic Plan

The Vermont State Board of Education is seeking public input as they draft a statewide strategic plan for the coming five years.

Pursuant to 16 V.S.A. 164a., which requires the State Board of Education to "adopt through a public process a statewide strategic education plan to describe how the agency will help schools boards to improve student performance", the Board voted to approve a draft Strategic Plan at its meeting on November 19, 2014.

Since starting the process at their Jun 2014 retreat, the Board has been working on the plan and discussing it at their monthly public meetings.

The deadline to submit feedback is December 4, 2014, at 4:30 PM. The State Board will review the comments at its next meeting on December 16, 2014, and plans to take action to approve a final version of the 2015-2019 Strategic Plan at that meeting.
