Woodstock Collective Designated Vermont State Craft Center Gallery

Collective-The Art Of Craft, located in Woodstock, Vermont, has been named as a new Vermont State Craft Center Gallery.

The Collective joins Frog Hollow Craft Center in Burlington, the Artisans Hand in Montpelier, the Gallery at the VAULT in Springfield, and the Northeast Kingdom Artisans Guild in St. Johnsbury as Vermont's only Designated State Craft Center Galleries. An additional designation for State Craft Education Centers includes the Shelburne Craft School in Shelburne, the Vermont Woodworking School in Fairfax and the Fletcher Farm School for the Arts and Crafts in Ludlow.

Galleries and education centers that apply for state designation are judged on a variety of measures, including the diversity and quality of work displayed in galleries and the breadth and quality of class offerings in education organizations.

"We are delighted to be recognized by the state of Vermont and to join the other wonderful organizations that have already been honored in this way," said Marcia Hammond, Founder of Collective-The Art Of Craft.

To celebrate the designation, Collective-The Art Of Craft will host an Opening Party on Saturday, Jan. 6, that will also feature the guest artists scheduled to visit the organization during the first three months of the year. The Opening Party will be held from 3-5 p.m. at their 47 Central Street location in Woodstock.

"We are thrilled that Collective-The Art Of Craft is being recognized as a new Vermont State Craft Center Gallery," said Heather Pelham, the state's Chief Marketing Officer. "Our network of State Craft Centers promotes and fosters Vermont's traditions of quality, authenticity and handmade art, which are integral parts of the iconic Vermont brand."

Collective-The Art Of Craft is a collectively managed gallery featuring fine hand crafted items made by local artisans. The artisans at Collective offer guests a creative blend of beautifully honed and excellently crafted objects for everyday use. Its home is a historical stone building adjacent to the Kedron River that runs through the center of Woodstock.

The Collective is open year-round, Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information, please visit
