Governor Phil Scott Congratulates Mobile Medical International on Award of Vermont Training Program Grant
Mobile Medical International is implementing strategic workforce development to enhance employee skills and increase productivity through a recent $43,668 matching grant awarded from the Vermont Training Program.
Mobile Medical International CEO Jeffrey T. Paquet said, "Mobile Medical International Corporation is involved in a highly specialized field that requires expertise not easily found in any labor market, much less a small rural market like Vermont. Investing in the continued training of new and existing employees will ensure that the company can continue to be successful and grow in its current location."
The Vermont Training Program (VTP) works together with their partners, employers, and training providers to train Vermont employees for the jobs of tomorrow.
VTP guidelines suggest that employee training projects be related to the development or production of new products, equipment, technologies, market opportunities, or processes that will lead to advances in innovation or productivity. The grant funds are meant to supplement existing training efforts for new and tenure employees alike. The training provides skills which are critical to the retention of local employees that are vital to the area.
"Creating greater opportunity for Vermonters and helping grow Vermont businesses is exactly what the Vermont Training Program is designed to do and it's important to my goals to strengthen and expand our labor force," said Vermont Governor Phil Scott. "I'm pleased this grant will allow Mobile Medical to deliver critical training to more of its workforce, enhancing the expertise of Vermont workers in this sector."
"Without the assistance of VTP our company would only be able to support the training of a few employees, but now we are able to take a more integrated approach" said Mr. Paquet.
The training grant will impact all Mobile Medical International Corporation employees, which has recently increased its workforce by almost 40 percent. The training will result in the employee being trained in critical and new skills which will facilitate the efficiencies and productivity of the company thereby keeping jobs local.
